I can hardly believe that Gideon is already 2 months old (in fact, he’ll be 10 weeks old tomorrow!) — where does the time go?! Over the years I have reviewed a LOT of baby products. Some of them I’ve kept because I loved them so much, other’s I’ve passed along for other families to use, and some I’ve just discovered this time around. Today I wanted to talk about the products I’ve found most helpful during Gideon’s first 2 months. Some of these items are things that were sent to me now or in the past for review, other items are things I purchased myself or was given it as a gift.
I reviewed this playard when Zellene was just a little baby and continue to love it. I use it on the main floor of our home as a changing station on that level. It saves me from having to go up and down the stairs many times during the day. I store diapers for both Zellene and Gideon in it along with extra clothes for Gideon. The changing station on it is perfect and it’s a great place for him to nap when needed. Zellene loves to climb into the bassinet area while I’m changing little Gideon and “help” me wipe him. It’s so cute and I’m glad that it gives her the opportunity to be a part of taking care of her brother.
aden + anais Swaddles
I tried my very first swaddle from aden + anais with my third baby, Zellene and fell head over heals in love. Since then, they may have become a slight addiction. The patterns are so adorable and as an added bonus, they make great backgrounds for photos. The swaddle shown below is from one of their newest collections, a collaboration with Zutano –the one in the picture of the bassinet is as well! I use them for everything from nursing covers, to spit rags, as blankets and to swaddle. I never leave home without at least one swaddle from aden + anais and you won’t either once you try them!
Lansinoh Breast Pump
I have had to pump daily ever since my milk came in. At the beginning I was pumping three times a day and storing about 15 ounces of milk. I’ve managed to get it down to about only 4 ounces of milk a day and one pumping session in the morning. I’m hoping that within another week I’ll be able to only pump when I’ll have to miss a feeding. I have plenty of milk saved up at this point and even donated a lot of milk to a friend. I am SO thankful that I’ve had my Lansionoh Double Electric Pump the past two months. It’s wonderful! You can read my full review of it here.
Cake Nursing Chemise
Gideon is waking up about 1-2 times each night to nurse. I love my Cake Maternity nursing chemise because not only does it make night time feedings easier, it’s also super comfortable and looks fabulous too! It has built in support that’s just enough for overnight (not too tight) and the fabric is stretchy enough I’ll also be able to use it as maternity sleepwear if/when I am pregnant again. I wear it basically nightly unless it’s in the wash.
We’re a busy family and having a newborn doesn’t slow us down. I love the phil&teds Nest because it’s so portable without taking up very much space. It’s been great to have when we visit my inlaws. The warmer days are finally just about here and I know we’ll be using it even more as we head outdoors.

If I could only choose one clothing brands for my babies when they are young it would be Carter’s, hands down. I LOVE Carter’s. The clothes not only fit well, they are adorable and reasonably priced too. A large portion of Gideon’s wardrobe is Carter’s — it takes everything in me not to spend a large amount of money every time I walk into that store.
Snuggle Nest Surround Co-Sleeper
I have to admit that I didn’t use this co-sleeper from the beginning. I was afraid our Queen size bed would not be big enough for it. After a few weeks of poor sleep for both Gideon and I though, I finally gave it a try. Oh. My. Gosh! Gideon slept so well in it his first night and has slept great in it ever since. It’s amazing really. We both get a good night’s rest now and he normally only wakes up once at night now to nurse. I’m so very thankful for this co-sleeper.
You can read more about the co-sleeper in my review, here.
Kiddopotamus Safari So Good Puppeteer Bouncer
The review on this bouncer is coming soon, but as a preview — we love it! It’s so comfy for Gideon and he really likes sitting in it, watching his siblings play around him. I move it all around the house for him and he stays content in it for quite a while while I get other things accomplished. It’s definitely worth a look and on a great sale right now on Amazon.
Nesting Days Carrier
My dear friend Ruth (from Viva Veltoro) sent me her Nesting Days carrier once her little girl outgrew it. She told me it made her first few months with a newborn easier so I was eager to give it a try. Boy was she right! It’s so easy to put it on and Gideon really loves it. When he gets fussy, I can put him in the carrier and he’s usually asleep within minutes. I used the carrier a lot on my last blog trip to Ohio (he came along) and it was great for the airport and during meetings. I highly recommend it and one to get a second one sized for my husband.
GB Lyfe Travel System
I didn’t think I need a new infant car seat until my GB Lyfe Travel System arrived. Gideon, for whatever reason, is so much happier in this car seat. He would scream in his old seat but ride happily in this one, so we quickly switched him over and never looked back. I used the travel system a lot on my recent trip to Ohio and it was perfect! I even had someone in the airport comment on how much they liked it.
