I’ve partnered with Little Remedies® for this post.
My grandfather is an amazing guy. He is a World War II veteran, retired Methodist preacher, father of seven and grandfather and great grandfather of more than I care to count. At the age of 92, I marvel sometimes at just how healthy and able he is. I mean, the man still fells then splits his own firewood! I’ve watched him recover from surgeries in days rather than the weeks the doctors told him it would take. Health is important to him and it shows.
I have found over the years that Grandad gives some of the best advice when it comes to common ailments. As a child, I would visit my grandparents’ house and spend the night, sometimes for a day or two, other times for the whole week. I remember during one such visit that I developed a horrible cough. As I lay in bed late one night, unable to fall asleep because the coughing would not stop, my grandfather came into the room and handed me a spoon. Here, swallow this. I wasn’t quite sure what he was giving me. I braced myself for the taste of some kind of gross medicine only to be delighted by the taste of honey. Almost immediately after swallowing the honey my coughing ceased. I was able to lie down, fell quickly asleep and slept all night long.
I’ve always remembered that night that my grandpa’s honey relieved my cough faster and better than any other medication I’d ever tried. Over the years I’ve since read numerous studies that prove the effectiveness of honey against coughs, so I was delighted to see that Little Remedies® now offers a 100% natural cough syrup that contains honey! In fact, it contains just 3 simple, natural ingredients: honey, purified water and a natural preservative. Like all Little Remedies products, it contains no artificial dyes, artificial flavors or parabens.
Poor Maggie got a cough last week so I immediately reached for the Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup. I gave it to her every night before bed and the results were wonderful! It quieted her cough almost instantly so she was able to sleep. What a relief! Throughout the day I gave her Little Remedies® Sore Throat Pops that contain real honey. She was happy to suck on it and it calmed her fiery throat.
Grandad was right! Honey is the best thing to quiet a cough. I’m so glad to see that Little Remedies has embraced this natural remedy and includes it in their line of products for kids! Next time your little one comes down with a cough, make sure you have Little Remedies® Cough Syrup on hand!
