Do you ever feel like you can never get done everything you want or need to get done each day? I feel like this ALL the time! It feels like some days I stress and stress because “a”, “b”, and “c” all the way down to Z!) need to get done, and yet I only have time for one of them. Then I feel so overwhelmed! If this is you too, I wanted to tell you something I’ve been doing lately that has really started to make me feel better.
Rather than beat my self up on a daily basis, now each day I pick one thing that needs done. By one thing I don’t mean the daily tasks like vacuuming or doing the dishes, but one of those other must-do jobs that you don’t do daily or even weekly. The task I choose is usually depending on if it’s a day I’m home or away because some of course do take longer than others. Today I decided to clean my refrigerator out. I know, my frig looks pretty bare now! I need to go to the store plus I threw out a bunch of old stuff. You should have seen it BEFORE I started to clean it! It was full!! My daughter even decided to chip in and “help” and she did a pretty good job!
Now my refrigerator looks sparkling clean. I still have a house full of other tasks that need to be done at some point, but it feels refreshing and good to have THAT done. Some days I get two things done and today I threw in giving my kitchen counters a deep down cleaning as well. I’m determined to clean through my whole house this way and I’m really feeling good about it. So far I’ve gotten my master bathroom closet organized, maternity clothes hung/pre-pregnancy clothes boxed away, pantry organized and clean, and a few other odd jobs.
